As we gather together here at Fancy Nonsense to collaborate and share in community, we celebrate our similarities and differences as well as our unique gifts, interests, and perspectives. By sharing some Fancy Finds with you, we hope to provide a source of inspiration. We want these round-ups to serve as encouragement. Not encouragement to focus on materials, but something more personal. Similar to a friend sharing the products and tips they love. Maybe you’ll find something that’s a better fit for your budget, or something eye opening and fun. Or maybe you will be reminded how much you do like what you already have. If that’s the case, you must share them with us! Hopefully we will all find something fancy in the process.
Last week, we shared our favorite sunscreen. It’s so important we protect our skin, but equally important to protect our eyes. Wearing sunglasses on a regular basis can prevent eye damage. Not only are sunglasses essential for sunny days, they can be a great fashion accessory too. They can help tie together an outfit and, better yet, help hide tired eyes. Who doesn’t want a little extra help with that, right?
I can’t purchase nice sunglasses. I tried. Now I buy the ten dollar glasses from Target because they are constantly being misplaced and damaged. Because of this bad habit, for the longest time, I just didn’t wear sunglasses. Do you wear sunglasses on a regular basis? Do you wear them for the fashion? Eye protection? Both? This year I set a goal to wear sunglasses more often. For me, they don’t serve as much of a fashion statement. I wear them to prevent headaches and, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more worried about wrinkles. I hear my mom’s voice as I jump in the car or spend time outdoors, “Tasha, if you’re worried about wrinkles you need to start wearing sunglasses.” I know, I know, it’s quite the oversimplification of wrinkle prevention. But it gets me to wear my sunglasses.
Whatever your reason for wearing sunglasses, here are some of our favorites:
