I am not one to limit or categorize my food. I don’t discriminate on good flavor and experiences. I want to try it all. So the fact that these are raw and vegan doesn’t mean they taste like cardboard. They are wonderful!
I live through my senses. Big flavor is my favorite food. Big bold red wines, thick crusty bread, cold melting salted butter, spicy jalapenos and dark chocolates. I’m probably saying all of this because I am in the middle of trying to loose 10 pounds. I am not into weight, in fact I don’t really care that much that I am ten pound up. But I do care about not letting things get out of hand. I could celebrate and feast everyday if left to my own whims. But I am trying to remind myself that there is a time and place for everything. A time to feast and a time to fast. A time to celebrate and a time to mourn. A time to indulge and a time to control. And I am currently trying to figure out how to regain control of my exercise and diet.
All that to say, these are some of my favorite snacks and my kids love them too!
- 12 pitted dates
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Puree dates in a food processor. Add almond flour, chocolate and vanilla. Puree until all combined. Take bite size clumps and role into small balls. Keep refrigerated.
This is perfect for little fingers! And is a great dessert if you have a sweet tooth.
