Spring is coming. I promise.
It won’t be winter forever. I know. I live in Phoenix, and I am from your weather future. A place where apple blossoms are blooming, windows are open, and people are out and about meeting each other and entertaining in their backyards.
Spring is such a fun time of awakening and mindfulness. I am trying to enjoy the sweet and delicateness that is held in spring. The dainty flowers and muted colors give everything a feminine feel. I am thankful for the fragrance that swirls in the wind with such beautiful scents of orange blossoms and Texas mountain laurel.
But with spring in the dessert, there is a sadness here. It reminds me a lot of what fall was like in Ohio growing up. It’s a sadness because you know that with the lengthening days we will be pushed inside by the scorching sun. We will have to close our blinds and sit around naked to stay cool. Make sure you call first before you pop in.
I am sure most of you around the country can’t imagine being warm, let alone hot. But I tell you it’s real. At least there is iced coffee, margaritas and a pool to get me through.
